Your Questions Answered

Product.

Does it have a kite mark?

Yes. It’s 100% compliant with your insurance policy.

Do I need training to use it?

No, it’s a grab-and-go system anyone can use.

What type of fire does it put out?

All of them.

In fact, it's so good at getting fires under control that it can even extinguish lithium batteries, electrical fires, and aviation fuel.

Even a lithium battery fire?

Yes, they can even extinguish lithium battery fires.

What about electric car fires?

No, because in that situation, you need to inject the FX fluid directly into the battery casing, and these are fire extinguishers.

Is it environmentally friendly?

Yes, in fact the levels of PFAS chemicals are 1000x below the safe legal limits, and because you use less to put out the fire, it’s easier to clean up too.

Making them 100% compliant with even the strictest environmental regulations.

What’s its shelf life?

The FX-500 is rated for 36 months, but we’re testing it to see if it’s even longer.

However, both the 6 & 9-litre models are rated for 60 months.

Can I refill my old extinguishers instead of buying new ones?

Yes.

If you have either a 6 or 9-litre extinguisher we can refill them with FX fluid at a reduced cost to find out more email us at info@fxfiresolutions.com with the subject line “refill” and we'll get back to you with the specifics.

How much does it cost?

The same as any other fire extinguisher of the same size.

Has FX fluid been tested?

Yes, it has been tested for all A, B, C, D, Electrical, F, and Lithium.

Who tested it?

The British Standards Institution (BSI)

Is it certified?

Yes, for A, B, Electrical, and F.

Can you give me the specifics?

Sure thing,

FX Fluid is certified as- 43A, 183B, and 75F

Where did you get 15x more powerful from?

Certifications don’t tell the entire story.

What works on paper, and what happens in practice are often two completely different things.

For example, foam extinguishers are also rated 183 B, but when we put them against FX fluid in a series of tests, FX fluid put out the fires 3-times faster using 20% of the fluid.

Meaning they performed 15 times better in the field.

Is FX fluid dangerous to humans?

No, FX extinguishers are 1000x below the legal limit for forever chemicals (PFAS), non-carcinogenic, and easy to clean up.

Meaning they are one of the safest fire extinguishers on the market.

Can I use the extinguisher more than once?

Yes. But we don’t recommend it.

Our extinguishers are a bit like a deodorant can in how they work, as FX fluid is an aerosol.

So, as long as there’s still some fluid in the extinguisher, you can use it to tackle any small fires that block your escape.

Just don’t keep half-used extinguishers lying around for future use, as that puts lives at risk in the event of another fire.

Where are they made?

It’s made in the UK.
